Posting and saying Hello

I joined the other day when i bought the 50 Olds 88 coupe last Sunday.
Was doing search for 50 Olds stuff, i'm on other forum's not all with this name, Oldsguy / Dan asked why the nailhead 88. I said because i'm torn between Buick's & Olds! Throw in some Pontiac's.

I'm Cleaning house have a bunch of Buick's. Putting the the bucks in to the 88 coupe it's still in Fla 1,700 miles away. Had two 88 coupes early on $125.00 each, when i was young and nuts now older but still nuts.

The 50 Olds was always my favorite i burned up the streets of Chicago with the 88's.

Put a motor question on the forum. I'll know more when i get the car here. He thought it had a 58 Olds in it? I have to check into a 58 J-2 in town my friend sold a guy in the 70's a good running motor, he never put it in anything - who knows might be able to buy it!

Heh, if I made up a screen name based on my marque interests it would be too long to read ! Modern Motoring is an advertising slogan that Lincoln used in 1953 . I sold my 53 Lincoln Capri and bought Marge the big blue barge, the 1963 98 Convertible. I have never been happier with an old car than Marge ! SO I guess it's a tribute to what was to what is now.

I loved those two 50 Olds coupe in Chicago lots of fun. I haven't been happier since i bought the 88 Sunday. Rev'ed up over it. I always had a thing for 53-54 Capri hardtops cool cars, the 50 Olds is my favorite having the connection with the good times, the main thing is when you find the car that lights you up, you found happiness.

Good name! We owned a four door 98 sedan when we were in Wisconsin, it was a good winter car, our family called it the banana boat because it was yellow and, well, a boat.
