It sounds great! Looks great, too. I especially like your dog in the back seat!
By the way, we can see that it's a Delta 88 Royale 2-door hardtop. That was a relatively rare car for 1971. Olds produced only 8,397 of that model. The only other Royale available that year was the convertible. Compare this to production of the "plain" 2-door hardtop Delta 88, which was 27,031, more than three times as many. The other Delta 88 line available that year was the Delta 88 Custom, and production of 2-door hardtops was 14,067.
Add it up, and you've got just under 50,000 (49,495, to be exact) 2-door hardtop Delta 88s for 1971, and your model accounted for just about 17% of those.
Base price of your car was $4,288, making it the second-most expensive Delta 88 available that year. Only the convertible was more, and that was only $7 more at $4,295.
As I said, it's a very nice looking car. I especially lik the two-tone green with white top. You just don't see two-tone cars anymore, and I think it's really a loss. And you're right, that engine sounds like it needs nothing. Just drive and enjoy!

Also worth your while to have a look at the Wild About Cars website; they have tons of Oldsmobile info there too. As you can see from my sig line, it's free and I think it's a great site (that supplements this one really well).
If you're close by, LMK. Maybe we could hook up and talk shop about our cars?
