Newbie 72 Cutlass S

Hello All,
I have always loved cars and in February 2011 I bought my first muscle car, a 72 Cutlass S. My first car was a 1983 Olds Cutlass, and I have always loved the GM A-body platform, so I thought this was a fitting choice. The car currently has a Rocket 350 and I plan to refresh and add power. If I had to categorize my build goals for the car it would be pro-touring.

Here is a pic of the car outside the 2011 Good Guys Show in Columbus, OH.

Welcome to C.O.! Very nice car. There are at least 2 others on this site with the same color. Looks like someone did a patch panel on the r.s. fender and didn't quite match the paint.

So, more about the car and your plans? BTW I also have a 72 Cutlass S and wouldn't trade it for the world. It's a fabulous car to drive and has a wonderful ride that even new Cadillacs envy.

Thanks for the welcome. The car looks decent. The clear coat is peeling, therl driver's door has quite a bit of filler.

The 350 has a 307 A5 intake, Holley 750 double pumper, headers, and Magnaflow dual exhaust. I have a rebuilt q-jet and O.E. 4 bll intake to install. I am thinking Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, flat top pistons, mild can, and possibly head work. I will go with a more modern suspension, updated interior 18 inch wheels, with 442 grill and hood.

I would love to make the trip to Olds homecoming.
