As an old collector, I am overwhelmed with this technology, and, honestly, not very good at it. I do wish some of the other clubs I belong to would do the same thing.
I am located up here in the cold Northeast (MA) where we can only use our cars six months a year.
In my collection, I have NO Oldsmobiles, though there are more than a few that I would love to have. (I do have a large collection of early promo models, of which the Oldsmobiles are very prominent.
Many years ago, I acquired an Olds clear plastic hood. It has been sitting up in my barn hoping to find someone who could use it. I was surprised to recently learn that there are many variations, and I have no idea what distinguishes one from another. I estimate this one to be '51 or '52. I could use some assistance in identifying the year, but would also love to have someone use it.
It is doubtful I would ever have an Olds of the early '50's, as my interests lie in much earlier vehicles.
I'd love to help someone out. Let me hear from you.

Welcome, those hoods turn up now and again. From what I understand they were never meant to be used on a moving car but were for showroom advertising. You could see the Rocket engine without loosing the look of the car with a raised hood. But if today you have a 50's Olds with lots of chrome on the engine the rodder would love to have the clear panel hood.

Here's the pics! This looks very cool! They should have continued the plastic hood in other years!

Well that's interesting! A clear plastic hood! I never heard of one before. Hope someone chimes in on this thread!
