'70 Cutlass in Annapolis

Hey all,

My name is Mike. I just inherited a 1970 Olds Cutlass that has been in my family since it was new. My grandparents bought it new, then my dad warmed it up a bit when they died (he had a 442 in the early '70s). It sat for a while, and last year when I mentioned to my dad that I was itching for a new project car, he gave it to me.

It has a 350 with an Edelbrock intake and Holley street avenger carb and a few other goodies. My plan is to get it rolling this summer and get out and drive it! I've previously owned a '69 Dodge Charger (383 big block), '65 Mustang coupe (289), and a '91 Camaro RS (305), so I'm not new to the muscle car scene. I am new to Oldsmobiles, however! Looking forward to learning and sharing on here.

Nice score Mike
I'm sure you'll enjoy the heck out of driving this car. Check and see if you've got a Ramrod 350 in that thing. If it is, that's going to be one sweet ride. If it doesn't it will still be a sweet ride.

Welcome from the Eastern Shore. Maybe we have enough members in MD to have a get together this year.

Welcome to CO! Great story, and glad it's been kept in the Family - yours, and ours!!! Keep us posted on the progress as you go along.

Thanks for the very warm welcome, guys!

I will definitely keep you all up to date as the old girl progresses.

I would most certainly be in for a Maryland get-together! Lets put something together!

How would I know if I have a "Ramrod" 350?

The 'Ramrod" 350 was the same as a W31 and was listed that was in 68 only. the W31 moniker was first used on the 69 model.

I see, thank you!

So, was there a difference in the 350s that were used? This GM stuff is all very new to me. haha

68/69/70 there were 3 different 350s that Olds offered. The standard 9.0:1 compression 2bbl, the 10.25:1 4bbl and the Ramrod/W31 (depending on the year) 10.5:1 4bbl.
