Welcome to the site! We have several members in Washington state, hopefully one of them can help you with a plater. Would you tell us more about your car? How long have you had it? Do you know any of its history? John

Rico, welcome to CO! Nice '55. Ah, what great memories of when they first came out, but it's that way with every generation, isn't it! LOL!

Hello

Hey my car was broke down in moses lake for about a winter, a while ago.
I thought I blew the motor ,but head gaskets fixed it (they were from 1975).
I still get over there once in a while (family)

bumper

Rico Rocket, The next time you are around a local car show ask some of the participants, they should have opinions on preferred chromers in your area. Most chromers can do dent repair, some better than others. And buy the way, hang on to your wallet re-chroming has gone out of sight as of late. I have more tied up in my front and rear bumpers than the whole car cost new.

PS. love your 55.

I took all my chroming to Art Brass in Seattle. They will finish it the way you want it. I had some work that had to be done to my bumpers - the front cost about $600 and the rear was $700 to refinish and high quality plating.

Art Brass did the bumper on my 70 elcamino after i was rear ended.
I think it was about $500 to straighten & rechrome (i didn't pay insurance did)
It sure looked purdy after i got it back.

Thanks everyone for the welcome messages and for answering my questions so soon. I have personally owned my 55" for about 6 months but its been in my family for over 26 yrs. I am the 4th owner. The vehicle was purchased in Idaho from a dealer by a woman(she probably wouldn't want her name posted) but she kept the vehicle for about 24 years. she later sold the vehicle to a man in Pullman Wa. who only kept it for a few months before selling it Mel Smith who has stored and kept in beautiful shape he moved to Libby mt he kept the car for 25 yrs. This last year he decided it was time for new owner and i have had my eye on it since the first time I seen it. The 55" has an original 324 with 60k miles, Mel repainted the body 20 years ago, it was reupholstered with vinyl but by the time i got it, it was tore very badly i thought i was going to have to reupholster the interior but once I started tearing out the vinyl I was amazed to find the original cloth upholstery in great shape(few stains but cant complain). I have recently added an electrical fuel pump didn't realize the wind shield wipers were ran by the mechanical fuel pump so now i have to find a new air line to T off on the wipers I will probably use a line from the carburetor. But if anyone has any suggestions please. but other then the normal tune up, fuel pump, coil, carpet oh and work on the radio everything else is original and planning on keeping it that way. I have plans to repaint in the future like I added before I have work to do on the back bumper. Also when the car is cold when I start it i hear a tick tick sound which sounds to me like the lifters might need some adjusting, im not sure if that's a job i should do myself or just let a professional take care of it.

Rico rocket.

HI. if you need any help let me know. I just live in Pasco. The ticking is the lifters but they are none adjustable. If it goes away after a while I wouldn't worrie about them. I have a 57 OLDs 88. I am helping rebuild a 55OLDs sedan for a friend here in town. I also am getting my brothers 69 OLDs Delta 88 convertable back in shape.
WELCOME .

I've heard Restoration Chrome in Spokane is decent, but can't personally vouch for them as have never used

Here is a link to their Olds price list:
