Newbie from WI

Hi, my name is Warren, and I have a problem.

I've been bitten by the Olds bug, and have been unable to find a cure for this illness until just recently.

All kidding aside, I purchased my 1968 Delmont back in June, and so far have been nothing less than thrilled with it. Yeah it needs a lot of work on the body, but mechanically it is rock solid. (knock on wood)

The few pics I have posted were taken the day I brought it home from storage, so it still is quite dirty. I'll post some updated ones, after I actually take more.

This forum looks to be chocked full of great people and information, and I am glad to be a part of it.

Welcome to the Olds family! You are among good folk here. Where are you in WI? I ask, as I am in Milwaukee.

Enjoy your ride -

Welcome cheeseperson Warren. (Just taking Bill's lead there and I have no idea why. Is WI a dairy type of State?)
T'was a Wisconsonite from La Crosse that got me interested in Oldsmobiles. Met him on eBay when he sold me some Mopar valve covers. Then gradually over time he talked me into an Olds...or two.
Great community here. Like no other.

First, welcome to the site!

Second, did you know there is a country in Europe whose inhabitants are called cheeseheads?

It's Holland!

Talking Welcome to CO

They are never done no matter how hard you try there is always something else to fix or redo, no cure either, sorry but that's the way it is.

Wow, take a weekend off to do a brake job on the banana boat (which could be an entirely different thread), and have a few beers, and this thread really takes off.

D. Yaros, I am about 25-30 SW of Milwaukee in a small town called Big Bend (between Muskego and Mukwonago).

Col Wickham, Wisconsin is indeed known as America's Dairyland (and still says so on the license plates).

You got some classic place names there. Ya can't post a thread then take your eyes off it for a minute around here. In a matter of minutes you'll be tagged by 49 other States, Europe, Canada and even this hemisphere. A close but wide spread family of Oldsmobile enthusiasts.
Henceforth Warren, you could well be known as "Brother Cheese".

I don't know how I missed this thread

Blue,

Does your vista smell like a grilled cheese sandwich?
or should I say "Toastie" to my Dutch friends?

Wisconsin? Isn't that where Bret Farve played for a few years? Welcome to CO from a neighbor in Minnesota.

LOL,
I'll put it this way...
If your from Minnesota and you happen to be in a bar in Wisconsin, You would be better off talking about politics or religion than Bret Farve.

I'm definitely not from Minnesota but I do have a Minnesota Vikings cap I bought in Calgary in '79. We have an Oakdale down the road a couple of miles. Mining town but the mines closed down so now it's ..... well Oakdale.

Pics posted in my album here. Still just the photos from the day I picked her up, although not much has changed aside from cleaning it up a lot, and putting on 5 coats of wax and polish so far.
