Just wanted to say HI to all the oldsmobile enthusiasts and to introduce myself. I'm Mike and have reading your posts for some time and decided it was time to join in. I started with a black 62 olds starfire in high school and had to sell in college (regretably). Later after I found a decent paying job in 1988 I bought a 56 olds 88 2dr hdtp which I still own. I have since added 3 more 56 olds, a starfire which is in the process of a body off restoration, 98 2dr hdtp and 88 2dr sedan waiting their turn.

Talking Welcome to CO

I'm a big fan of the 50's Olds, nice collection. The red and white hardtop looks to be in great shape. Is it a full restoration?

Thanks everyone, the hardtop was redone in 2000 but is not a body off and it still has the original chrome. I know some will kring when I say I put in a L98 tuned port chev 350 with 700r4, has decent performance and I can get 20-25 mpg with it. I am considering rebuilding the old 324 with some of the old performance parts I have collected over the years and mounting to the 700r4

A Chevy!!!! Well, I don't know...o.k. I forgive ya. Welcome, If you get the rest looking as good as the first '56 pictured, then that'll be a major accomplishment. Keep us updated w/photos.

Welcome to CO. Since the hardtop is so nice we can look over the fact that is has a bastard heart pumping in it.

I really, really like what Oldsmobile did in '56 on those rear fenders and how they flow into the tail lights, my favorite.
