Manual

I'm looking for a general reference manual. I've got a 1967 Cutlass Convertible. Would the "1967 Cutlass/442 assembly manual" be my best purchase? Thanks for any input.

dsillies, If I were you the first book I'd buy is the "Chassis Service Manual" for your year. Just like what kgw68 is looking for. They're on ebay regularly and you should be able to pick up a used one for $25-50 or a reproduction for $75-100. Do like snvt442 suggested but with the year 1967. They also sell it on a CD but I like to have the "hardcopy" I can lay out on the workbench while I tinker. John

This where I went to get my service manual ages ago. I guess his prices aren't as competitive. However, its a half hour drive to the store from my house.

Can't beat instant gratification.

I think one really need to get both the Chassis Service Manual (CSM) *and* the Product Information Manual (PIM) aka "assembly manual".
If you are doing just "maintenance", the CSM may suffice, but if you want to know how it all goes together and *especially* if you are at all concerned about what is correct for your car, it is the best $25.00 you can spend, and it is a restoration must-have. I would avoid a PIM put out by "Millennium", ad they are notoriously poorer print quality.

(Of course then there are parts books, Service Bulletins, yada yada...........yeah, that's how it all started for me...........)

These guys have everything available
http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/
I have bought from them but also use them as a price reference and then go look for an even better price on ebay.
