a few more pics.

the Alero has a Hurst dual/gate shifter in it that i custom installed in it. and it has actual OSV parts on the car....suspension, brakes, wheels and tires.

the 72 442 is a F-85 so 1 of 751 made but then being a 4-spd makes it even rarer.

BTW, what is an OSV? Is that short for Olds Specialty Vehicle? I don't remember them, was it a special order and what was different from stock?

the OSV was the Oldsmobile Speciality Vehicle. It was a concept that was done for SEMA and then moved to being a possible production cars. They did an OSV alero, intrigue, and silhouette.

GM did give Olds the approval to produce the OSV Alero in November of 2001. It would have been the performance model. But we all know what happen and the we ended up the Saturn redline series.

there was 3 OSV alero's made. 2 were crushed and the last one was sold at barrett-jackson. I was able to get some of the parts off the cars that were crushed.

Thanks a lot guys. The 72 has been in the family since 1976 and is all numbers matching. 2 years ago my dad finially found the original style interior for the car which was the cheap interior for 72 and being it is a plain jane we went with the rubber floor rather than carpet. The car has no air, no pwer steering, original manual drum brakes all the way around and power windows. The power windows is not original but it was an option for 72 and we found a 72 cutlass with them and put them in ours.

That Alero is awesome looking! I wanted one at one time but it wasn't in the family budget. Guess i'll settle for out 97 Cutlass that our son drives now and my 2 67 Cutlass project cars.
Too bad GM didn't produce more of those OSV's!! Maybe their sales would have kept up with the "Fast and the Furious" Japanese market?? Maybe Olds would still be around?
