New guy, cars and toys

Hello all! I just joined and currently have a car for sale here, so I thought I should introduce myself. As my name states, besides Oldsmobiles I'm also into the old minibikes from the '60s-'70s. Looking forward to joining the community.

Thanks for the welcome! Here's a couple riders laying around the shop:
1968 Fox Doodlebug
1971 Roper (made by Bird, sold through Sears)

Both are original paint and motors. The Fox was short-blocked under warrantee many years ago.

Welcome! Love the old bikes. Started riding on a Suzuki Trail Hopper 50cc and brother had a Rupp Roadster! Those were the days for sure. Also loved the Honda Trail 70's and QA50's. How difficult is it to find parts for those old bikes?

Glad you guys like the bikes. Took some of the riders out last summer for a group shot:

The "big" bikes at on the end are "Super Bronc's", made by Heald. The last one has a title, and is registered as a classic motorcycle.

I'm mostly into the rope start lawnmower engine style bikes, but I do have a couple of Rockford Chibi's.
Parts can be tricky, all the mechanical stuff like bearings, cables, tires etc. are all available from many suppliers. Not much of an aftermarket for repro stuff however, so if you are a collector you may spend years finding a single part to complete a bike. Seems the OG minibike specific engines, and the chain guards and fenders are usually the hardest parts to source. Some areas of the country these things are everywhere, and other places they are nonexistent.

I like your collection. I had an MTD Trail Flite that my Dad gave me when I was 7, and wish I still had. I will eventually start looking for one to fix up. Neighbor at the cottage has a Honda Trail 70 that I told him I'd buy if he ever decided to part with it.
