New Member saying HI

Hi guys.

I'm a new member. I have a 65 442. I came across the car at the Portland Ore International raceway at their 3 day swap meet in 1987 or 88. The owner found it in a junk yard under 6 inches of Mount St Helens ash. The car had a 330 two speed tranny and looked like someone was living in it. I dragged the car to Michigan for a job and found a 1966 400 in southeast Ohio. Rebuilt and installed with a TCI TH400. I kept the car like that until around 1991 when I installed a 455 from a 1968. I rebuilt that and sent the heads to Mondello for street/strip work. The car is presently in my garage, it has the TH400 tranny and a Chevy 12 bolt 3.73:1 gears. During the early times, I had the car stripped and painted red $1200 Oregon 1988 prices. Also front and rear seat reupolstered for $600 Oregon 1988 prices. Also I went to Seattle, WA and bought a trailer load of parts from a guy trying to get away from the 65-67 442s. That helped with putting the car back together the way it is supposed to be.

Anyway, happy to be here, hope I can help anyone.

Thanks, that was a pain in the butt. I'm a member of about 10 different sites like corvette forum, 4x4 forums, ford truck forums and such and this is the only one that requires a certain amount of posts before I can post anywhere. I just don't understand the logic, especially when Olds is now a dead brand. This site should be promoting themselves more freely.

Welcome to the site! We were getting people signing up just to post spam or ****. This is a family friendly site and the super moderators came up with the idea and it has worked well stopping the spammers. We welcome anybody interested in Oldsmobiles, sorry for the inconvienence getting started. John

I can understand where you are coming from, however, I don't see a **** or spam issue at the other 10 sites I belong to. Yes, family oriented is a good thing, but kids under 16 don't usually drive or own cars. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule.

How will I know I can roam freely throughout this site?

Almost forgot, thanks for the warm welcome. If there is space, I will try to download some pics of my 65 442. The pics are on my home desk top.
