Welcome Aboard! Tell us about your plans for the car. Yours is the same color, or very close, to my 1971 98 that I had way back in the day.

My plans are to keep it as original as possible. I want to locate my missing trim pieces for the passenger side door, new rear bumper fillers, clean the heck out of the interior, rebuild carb, brake job, new gas tank, and drive!

We will see how it all works out. It has not been started in 22 years.

I will certainly have lots of questions throughout this process. The interior needs some love. That is my biggest hurdle!

Great looking car magnetictape502. Last year for the Land Yachts before GM shrunk the full size lineup. The Regency was the top of the Ninety Eight line that year. Nice that you want to keep it original - looks like you have a good foundation to start from. Rocket 455/4v backed by a TH400 as standard equipment. Solid drivetrain for sure. Enjoy your car - they don't make 'em like that anymore.

Welcome aboard, great car ! Big, luxurious, handsome, and comfortable. Thank the car gods that she came 455, a 76 350 would be beyond stressed trying to push that 5000 pounder around.

Sitting in a garage for twenty two years. 65k original miles. Interior really needs some love. Also need to replace all the rubber door and window seals as they have cracked. My plan is to park it in my garage to keep it out of the elements!

Inside doesn't look all that bad in pics. The bumper fillers are available (or were) but they'll be fiberglass and not the original plasticized rubber. You'll have to drop the rear bumper to install them.

You wanna dress that big girl up? Find a set of 71-72 Super Stock IV Polycast wheels. They will make that Ninety Eight look like it's ready to go dancing!

Looks like it has a "full load". What is that above the radio?
At only 65000 mi. it shouldn't require a lot of mechanical work.

That is a compass, not a GM but hey, Ill take what I can get!

Another question folks. What the heck do you call this? And where can I get one made up? Seems like all the ones I can find in the wild are already cracked and ruined.

Backplate for the front center armrest. Common failure part, but GM never thought there'd still be any of them around 45 years later. Fullsize Buick and Pontiac, maybe Caprice, with armrest option will use this part also. Look for one from a black interior and then dye it. Those didn't seem to deteriorate as quickly or badly as the colors.

Love the 98 Regency! My dad had a burgundy 2 door. I learned to drive in that car & mom's 73 Cutlass.
