Red face Just joining and looking forward to tapping experiences

My 20yr old son has wanted to restore a classic and found a 68 Fury III in our province, which we travelled to view. The week previous he had located a restored Toronado in Alberta and attempted at looking to travel and purchase that but it sold before he could act. En route to this Fury we noticed, what appeared to be, an old Toronado beside a woodpile on a back highway, looking rather worse for wear. We were cautiously optimistic and decided to look at it on the way back, no matter what the outcome of the Fury. We are both amateur mechanics, at best, and probably worse restorers, but I look forward to doing anything together, even when we butt heads, so it will be a challenge in all directions. The Fury proved to be very rotten in the undercarriage and beyond our limited skills and bank accounts, so on to the Toronado on the way back home. After knocking on the resident's door and being allowed to look at it, we were amazed to realize it was, in fact, better off than it looked. A 1970 Toronado that had been sitting in this yard, uncovered in our Maritime climate, for 12 years. My son decided to buy it and arranged it's flatbed delivery to our home, 2 1/2 hours away. On to the grand adventure and many consternations, I'm sure...

The search is half the fun...the tinkering and tweaking is the other half. Cool story and welcome😀
