Hello from Switzerland
Hello dear Oldsmobile drivers
I am Mike from Switzerland, 47 years old and proud owner of a 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon 4 doors Sedan.
I bought the car for my 20th birthday and prepared it.
Unfortunately the roof was not properly renovated and now after 27 years rust is forming again.
That is why I get in touch with you and hope to find the necessary spare parts to whip my Olds into shape.
Best regards from Switzerland

Welcome Mike, Really sharp 75 ! It looks as thou you took really good care of it over the years.
I think 27 years for a vinyl roof is good. I have seen them start pushing rust up after 10 years on cars up here in Canada.
I removed the vinyl from my 76 in 1997 and would never re-install . It took a bit of getting use to not seeing it wrapped in vinyl , however I am happy I stuck with the hard top.
If yours is an A/C car ,chances are the rust will start just above the windows and along the back deck.
Their are lots of us 73-77 guys here, so someone will be able to hook you up with some trim parts if needed.
I
More pics would be great if you have them.

The interior and engine bay are in very nice condition. You have taken very good care of the car and it shows well. I like the buckets and console, especially in the 4 door model.
A ? Any difference in driving with the General XP's or the Coopers? Road noise/tracking? I see many Olds guys are opting out for the Cooper Cobra's over the past few years.

Hi 76 olds, my Olds has this tyres because I do not get them anymore. I did not found the General XP 2000. The bucket seats are new restored.
In 1997 i have restored the complet engine and transmission.

Hi Jeff, it's just for fun in the garage and on our private parking space. Normally there is a Swiss license plate. You can see it on the 1st picture above. Kind regards Mike

That engine looks amazing! As good as anything done in the States. We were in Basel to catch a Rhine cruise boat a couple of years ago. Beautiful cities and country. Also very expensive, I can’t imagine how much it is costing to work on the Cutlass there.

Well, as a Michigander, I think it's pretty cool to see someone from Switzerland rocking a Michigan plate, even if it is one of the old blue ones. FYI, we have some better looking plates now, my personal cars have the ones that feature the Mackinaw Bridge, that connects the two peninsulas of the state.

Hello friends,
Here in Switzerland vehicles have to be tested periodically by an expert to get the license (license plates).
New cars after 6 years, then every 2 years. For vintage cars (cars from 30 years) the car has to be in a good original condition to pass this check, so that it only needs to be checked again every 6 years.
Mine is one of them.
And yes, it’s very expensive to maintain a US-car in Switzerland. But once i was an auto mechanic and so i can do a lot by myself.
I'm writing it here again, I'm still looking for the left quarter window seal. Maybe someone of you can help me out.I have found almost all spare parts for the vinyl top to replace except this rubber. Thanks a lot to this great forum.
