Hello all
Joined this morning, already have a question, I have purchased a 69 Tornado unseen a few hours from where I live, it has a 455 engine my intentions are to install in my 36 Olds coupe. Can anyone tell me if the block is drilled for the starter motor ? As the Tornado is front wheel drive the starter is bolted the tranny
Thanks for your help

Yes, the block does have the starter holes drilled like other 455's. Since your using it as a parts car I'd encourage you to offer parts or parts car to members here. If you have the time to part it out there's several items that are in demand. If you don't have the time/space please offer the whole car up. If there's a member nearby they may be willing to buy it whole, less the engine. Feel free to contact me through a PM or email to discuss items that may be market-able. John

Somebody else on here is building a street rod couple that I believe is a 36. He is very talented and it is going to be one heck of a car. I don't remember his user name but I bet you do Eric.

An old friend of mine purchased the Tornado and offered me the engine I'm not sure his plans for the rest of the car but will let him know about this site. I'm attempting to add a photo of my coupe. I'm currently running a 1973 455 block with C heads from a 1970, turbo 400 with a Ford 9 in posi disc brake rear end. Enjoyed just over 4000 miles this season. image.jpeg

Picked up a 1970 Toronado for the 455 in it to use in my 1970 442.
Great motor!
