Hello Olds folks, Freddie here.
I'm from Vernon, B.C. Canada, been building since i was 15 and have jumped into my first Olds. I found this locally, its originally from California and I have no history as to when it was brought to Canada but shes in my shop now.
The Dynamic 88 is running a 371, PS/PB and was complete when I bought it. Slowly it'll get put back on the road in grand ( or should I say a few $grand) condition but the job ahead for this summer is to get it road worthy in its present condition. I'm sticking with those Olds wheels and will update with some redlines as well.
I'll post some updates as i go along and I hope I can pester for information along the way.
Best regards,
Freddie in BC
Welcome aboard Lead foot, uh, I mean LeadFred. I've been through Vernon many a time and often wondered if there was anything hiding out there. Nice 1960! Looks very solid, and there's lots of folks on this site that love the bubbletops. Vernon seemed like a desolate place IMO. Got hit by plenty of tumbleweeds and big wind on the highway. My son and I drove down from Salmon Arm one day to get burgers and milk shakes at Denny's (don't ask).
Good to hear you're getting the car drivable again! FYI those front wheels are SSIV (Super Stock IV) and were 2 year only production exclusively for the Delta 88 models. They are hard to find in really good condition, so if you decide to keep them on your ride, they'll continue to look cool. If you decide to sell them, they should bring a good coin from the guys who have B Body cars from era.
Love your shop, where's the beer fridge and big screen TV?
Welcome to C.O. The '60 "Bubble Top " was always one of my favorites.I agree ,those wheels will look great with a nice set of "Redlines". Best of luck with your new find ,and you will love the forum. Larry
