This looks like a great place to be. My name is David Cookman and I love my 74 Omega. I live in Cornelius Oregon. I mainly drag race it, but I drive it 40 miles one way to the track, race it, and drive it home. I hit a few car shows, and cruises too.

WC David Cookman
Why, yes there is a East Coast David Cookman. He also owns a 74 Omega, and I think is a member of CO. Small world.
Thank you for all the kind greetings. Looking forward to picking your brains when needed.

That's pretty cool. I'd love to see you two guys just standing next to each other and next to your cars. That would be a great photo. It could be titled something like "The David Cookmans and Their Omegas." It would fun to see if you guys look at all like each other, and if your cars do.

If I remember correctly, I "Googled" 74 Olds Omega, and a drag slip form with the name "David Cookman in Or. came up???

I was like WTF....thats not me. How did my name end up on a car out there....lol
What are the odds of two 74 Olds Omegas, both owned by David Cookman age 44 on opposite sides of the country.

Yup, when I got the FB message, I thought, did I send a message to myself? I just think it's too cool! Maybe someday I will come east for the Hot Rod Power Tour, or just to race, who knows.

I actually don't believe there are two David Cookmans, each with the same car. I think this is all a hoax. There is just one of these guys, he owns two '74 Omegas, and he's pretending to be two people.

Not a hoax
Nope, Jaunty75. there are two of us. More if you don't count the David Cookmans who don't own Oldsmobile Omegas. No hoaxes, just two people, with the same names, with awesome taste in cars. And if I had a motorcycle, I would have a Harley just like him.

Good looking car. Care to share about et's and combo getting you there?

at the bottom. Rebuilt stock bottom end, high volume oil pump, comp cams roller tip rockers, comp cams lifters and pushrods, comp cams springs, rebuilt heads, mild port and polish. Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold, Holley 700 double pumper, Hooker Super Comp headers, MSD billet distributor, 6AL box, and MSD Coil and wires. It is a stock turbo 350 tranny with a 30.00 shift kit in it. 4:10 gears with a Detroit locker. I run 26" tall M/T ET Drags or M/T Drag radial. It runs 13.78 to 13.95 at 98mph in the quarter(depending on the weather and the driver) consistently. It is a hatchback, with no interior except 2 poly bucket seats. I drive to the track(78 miles round trip), race, and drive home. A ton of fun!!!

Nice looking car but I would think a stripped omega would be way less than a ton![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I like the grill on it stands out with that combo of flat black hood and shinny pant . What suspension mods do you have on it? or I should have said that ton of fun has to hurt your E.T.'s

Wait until the other Col Wickham from Western Australia with the '72 442 Convertible sees this thread. We won't believe it.![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Welcome aboard David. Amazing co-incidence & nice car. Have you guys done a little family tree research and compared VINs? This thing might get even weirder.
