SS II / SS III Part Questions

Howdy from Dallas,

Hope ya'll can help me identify which parts I need to complete the restoration of what I believe are a set of SS III Wheels.

First, all four of the wheels are stamped with the number 14x7JJ followed by 877.

I need to secure sets of:
Center caps - Not sure if I need bolt on or snap on type
Lug Nuts - Correct size and style
Bezel - The chrome bezels that go on the five inner openings
Beauty Rings - Correct style

I have seen a variety of these items on the internet but want to purchase the correct ones. Thanks in advance for any input you might provide.

Paul - 1972 Cutlass Supreme

PS - I purchased these wheels from a forum user, these are not the wheels that come on the Cutlass

SS II / SS III Part Questions

Center caps - Not sure if I need bolt on or snap on type
if they are bolt on there will be four or is it five holes for the bolts to go through to secure the center carp they are near the center of the wheel and smaller than the lug hole

Lug Nuts - Correct size and style - these are sold after market

Bezel - The chrome bezels that go on the five inner openings - these you can ususally find for a buck each from folks on the forums, if they are in decent shape you can hand polish them again these are sold aftermarket as well

Beauty Rings - Correct style - sold aftermarket as well, harder to find originals in good shape but they are out there - its tough to describe how to tell the originals but maybe some one else will chime in.

Welcome

Welcome aboard

II and III are the same except for color. First determine if they are bolt on or snap on and the size. We'll help ya find what ya need when we know what they are.

Thanks for the input. These wheels are definately bolt on, I see the five smaller holes close to the center opening of the wheel.

So I am looking for
20 Lugs -
20 Bezel's -
4 Beauty Rings -
Before I buy them all aftermarket would like to see what is available via the forum. Your tips in accomplishing this are appreciated!

Paul,
The chrome "acorn" style lug nuts are 7/16 and can be purchased cheap at your local auto parts store (assuming 71 and 72 are same size. After market trim rings are very shiny, I personally like them better than originals. Bezels and center caps can be purchased through the typical suppliers, Fusick, OPGI, Year One, etc. Don't faint when you see the price of bolt on center caps

X2 on 71 Cutlass info. If it's not a show car used center caps in various stages of beat up/abused are around and you can just purchase the repo Olds logo centers

Yes, it is. ....and no it won't. The 98 has a different stud pattern than the 88. I found out by trying exactly the same thing. This wheel is probably a 15 inch, which is the same as the 98, but the bolt pattern is different.
