As long as I can remember, I've walked to a different Drummer. never followed the crowd. Even in the Army when every one smoked Marlboro and drank Bud or Coors, I smoked Winstons and drank Miller High Life. When I got out, I rode BSA Motorcyces, and drove an Oldsmobille F85. Instead of Harley's and Chevy's .(Idid own a Harley for 13 dark years). Now I see on this forum, that I'm not so far out as thought. Unless there seems to be some sort of Olds viral pandemic that I didn't know about.

Like me for example. Not only Oldsmobiles, but diecast model tractors (cheaper and take up less space), keywind and quartz clocks, Waterford crystal, Asian art objects, old hand tools especially Western Auto Wizard and NAPA, tube stereo equipment. NASA memorabilia, Seattle and 1964-5 New York World's Fair stuff. I am interested in entirely too many things. And I wonder why I can't get thru the house.

 

X3 normal. All my buddies in high school were Chevy , ford ,or Pontiac . My step father bought me a 1970 delta 88 2door for graduation (200bucks )and I was hooked .

 

Yep, I 'd say normal. I never got the motor bike bug but I do understand the desire. I've got my share of vintage trinkets including tube powered amps, guitars and a worthless but neat beer can collection. It don't end there, with guns and fishing poles rounding out the eccentricity.

 

I'm probably related to Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov. I ride/own an Indian motorcycle & I drive an Oldsmobile convertible. Completely normal to me.

 

I think more than any of them, I drive my *****'s Wagon the most.

 

X4 I don't see any abnormalities at all,I did the Triumph and Mustang motorcycle thing (that's correct Mustang motorcycle) a while back followed by American antique single shot target rifles and double bbl shotguns among others.Played and raced with British sports cars and built Toyota Land Cruisers along with quite a few others. Love that *****'s wagon! Along with my Oldsmobile I collect *****'s Overland's from the 1920's and 1930's and old Honda motorcycles. So as far as I'm concerned you are perfectly normal .

The first motorcycle I ever rode was a Mustang. I have a Winchester Model 67 single shot 22 that I learned to shoot with when I was kid. And I have a Bull Barrel Model 75 Winchester Target rifle with the original Winchester tooled sling and the small , long skinny scope.Talk about a tack driver.

 

Perfectly normal from what I can tell. Some of us substitute aircooled VWs in place of the aircooled bikes :-D

I've always liked driving something different then what you normally see on the road like the American made 1986 Pontiac Fiero 5speed that I will be working on this summer.

Rodney, I think some of us may be born with this or develop it early on.

I didn't meet my dad until I was 4--and he promptly began beating me. I remember vividly my reaction to each beating... I would go into my closet, close the door so make it dark, sit down on a pile of rags to cool my butt, and think about what just happened.

I concluded that my dad was wrong and that I would never act that way when I grew up.

My dad didn't force me into conformation, he forced me into developing independent thinking.
