SC NEWBIE 65 Jetstar

Hello Y'all. I have a 1965 Jetstar Dynamic 88 Convertible. Just met with the body man today to get started. I need a drivers door and a front fender on the drivers side. If anyone has any leads, it would be much appreciated.

There were three 88 lines in '65. Jetstar 88, Dynamic 88, and Delta 88. So yours is either a Jetstar 88 or a Dynamic 88. No such thing as a "Jetstar Dynamic" 88. Unless you combined the front half of one and the rear half of the other to make one complete car!

thank you for the warm Ohio welcome! I will make the change and I appreciate your correction. Also, I appreciate the idea, as I may consider welding the ***-end of a Dynamic 88 on to my Jetstar 88 as body parts for either seem difficult to locate.

hey, welcome to the site. I can't help with body parts but Ido look farward to seeing pics of your car. Not everyone is as "warm" as jaunty. Enjoy the site.

Good news is if you are looking for a front fender or door for your car, the parts from just about ANY fullsize '65 Olds (in the case of the front fender) and ANY f/s hardtop coupe or convertible (in the case of the door) should work. You may have to fill emblem holes or make new holes (for example in the case of the upper body line molding on the J88). And I suppose you would not want to use a fender from a '65 Jetstar I (in the unlikely event you found one of those) since it would have a very large lower fender "vent" you'd have to fill.

But wouldn't that look so very cool?

Scott, is that actually an opening like 64 and 66 SF had, or does it bolt on like a 73 Hurst/Olds hood scoop? I can't remember ever seeing a 65 J-1 fender with the vent ornament off it.

The doors from a 66 full size should work as well on a 65. I have a 66 conv door that I could check the condition of. Problem would be its heavy and I am in NJ.

yes show pictures, I have a 65 Jetstar 88 convertible too, but I am selling, someone might inspire me to keep it unless I found a 69 GTO then it is definitely history
