My name's Jake, and I picked up a '67 Delta 88 from a guy out in Sheridan, IL back in September or so. My grandfathers were both Oldsmobile men, so I'm thinking the genes run deep - I'm in love with this car.
She needs mostly cosmetic work, i.e. trim, bumper, etc. I'll post those parts wanted in the appropriate forums.
And funny story.. just saw that Howard's Garage is a member on here. A couple weeks after I bought the car, I was driving around my hometown, Hinckley, and noticed someone was following really close. As I pulled into the grocery store parking lot, I heard someone shouting, but it didn't occur to me it was the person following me. So I get out of the car, and he gets out of his, and he introduced himself, and struck up a conversation about how he's got a shop out in Sheridan, and could help me find some parts! What a nice guy!
Glad to be apart of this community, and glad to have such a nice resource to learn more about this awesome piece of American engineering. Car currently sits exactly how I bought it, so I'm hoping to add my own touches over the years.
Thanks, guys! I love a Cutlass/F-85.. but it is nice to see cars like these at shows getting the love, too. Totally agreed, oldcutlass. I loved driving it to my outdoor gig this last fall, since I could park it next to the area where I perform, and passersby would stop and check it out. Too much fun!
