Question about my hood?

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is anyother inserts available for these hoods other than the fake louvers?

Hey Mike....Maybe you could try to make your own inserts, do you know any machinists? Some kind of an air scoop or a functional vent and then do an under the bumper Ram Air like the first W cars. I would do something that would utilize your beautiful stock hood so you could just unbolt and go back to stock.

Just an idea......

I've thought about it but the cost would be close to getting the ram air hood

Might as well. Apparently it's now illegal to own a 1970-72 Cutlass/442 WITHOUT one...

I guess I'd best be on the lookout for the police. Might get arrested or ticketed for stock hood. Nothing wrong with them either, and they don't crack or warp like fiberglass. Also nice to not worry about expensive underhood parts either.

1972 had 5 non OAI hoods. The hoods for AC cars didn't have rear cowl vents. The non AC cars did. The W29 hood for 442 (AC or non) had piercings above the LS headlights for the Oldsmobile script since the grills had 442 numerals where the olds script was on other cars.

Or just have the hood stripes done properly. Those ones aren't even close to the W29 pattern. Looks like someone tried to duplicate Chevelle stripes there. There shouldn't be any stripes on the back either. Interesting color choice.

I think Allen is right about the Chevelle thing. Are there stripes on the trunk too? If so it won't look right to do the hood stripes like original and have solid on the trunk.
