Potentially new owner of a 64 f-85 with a 425 from a 66 toronado

Just wanted to say hi. I have been trying to do my homework on the car and drivetrain. The motor is stock with stock 330 header. The transmission is a turbo 350. I'm just wondering if you guys have any advice for me or things to look for.
I will want to do some performance upgrades but nothing too major because I will want to drive it a couple of times every week. I wish I had a garage and a lift so I could get more in depth but I don't. I am mechanically inclined and love to work on cars.

Welcome. If you're saying that you put the stock 330 exhaust manifolds on the 425, that's the first thing to consider changing. Either the W/Z manifolds from a 1969-72 car or headers will be a significant flow improvement. Next thing would be the intake, since the Toro manifold has a depressed center for hood clearance

The current owner said that the 330 headers flow better than the 425 headers and that's why he used them.

1st rule, Dont believe everything you are told! He prob did not want to search for proper exhaust manifolds...the Toro ones wont work.

I'm looking for a four door because I have a two week old son. The four doors will be easier than my 2002 camaro ss. Granted I love the camaro but this f-85 would be easier and would have trunk space for babies stuff. I will miss the camaro's mpgs though. I love the six speed. T-56 with this 425 would be nice.

Any suggestions on an intake? So after the headers and intake maybe a mid cam? I'm pretty sure it has the 45 degree. Should I upgrade any of the ignition system? Thoughts..
