Pics of my '70 in pieces!!!

Hello all,

Just wanted to post a few pictures of the trouble I have got myself into lately. Needs plenty of sheet metal work considering the lower quarters are 100% rusted and covered in bondo!!! Anywho enjoy yourselves and be thankful this isn't in your garage.

Looks like it's time to kick the TrailBlaizer out to make room for the work to be done.

The engine turns over and it seems to have compression, however I am currently planning what type of rebuild would work best i.e. cam selection, heads, pistons and the like. I have even considered changing out the THM-400 for a manual shift package, if I could find a reasonable deal. Seems like lots of folks are changing to manual these days, I guess in the hopes to extract a little better gas mileage(Who cares about gas mileage? Right). I considered it because the manual may offer me better control over the rpm range of my engine with proper rear end of course. I plan on using the car as a good cruiser with maybe an occasional trip to the drags here in Texas. Body work is not my strong point so that will definately take the majority of my time getting it right. I plan on painting it either Olds Zodiac blue with white 442 stripes (clone car) or something along the lines of the Hurst Olds Firefrost Gold with black stripes or the '68 Hurst Peruvian Silver and black stripes. Either way it is going to be a while until that work is accomplished. Anyone know of a top notch painter in the San Antonio area who does Olds 442 striping and knows how to properly do it?

Anyone want a twisted '70 Cutlass bumper with a sticker reading "Hawaii..Where Smiles Come Easy" and a nasty broken fiberglass wing? Yes these are going soon, once I figure out how to unlock the trunk with no keys!!
