Welcome. we have other members form France and parts of the EU. Congrats on your purchase of a very nice car. Look on ebay and see if you can find a Chassis service manual for your car. Buy an original as the cd's and reproduction drawings are hard to read.

WELCOME! My favorite year and favorite color (I may be a bit biased that way). Very nice looking 442.

One thing is for sure, that intake / dual quad carbs is not original.

More than likely that could be the original engine. The G block 400 is what you have and was only made in the years 68-69. Congrats, you have a nice toy there.
Post more pics and welcome from Texas.

Welcome to the group... Very nice looking 442... With G-Block & C-Heads, it very well can be the original engine, although as stated previously the intake and carbs are not factory...

Thanks for compliment, good news if the G block and C Heads are correct for the 68 year!
I have also the original carb, intake, air cleaner in a box, but the rochester carb is really in bad condition, should be refurbished, that's may be why the previous owner change .

Beautiful looking car! I'm glad it passed your emissions testing. The way it's set up now I'd bet it's a hungry beast.

To answer your question - The only way you'll know if the engine is original is to compare the VIN derivative number stamped on the Engine Stamping Pad on the left side of the block. It will coded with letters and numbers. The last 6 numbers will match the last 6 digits of the cars VIN plate on the front left upper dash.

Look here:

The easiest way to get this information is to take a picture there using you cell phone.
