Talking Not my fathers 66 442

Hi all,

I've been reading here for a while and finally got around to posting and introducing myself. I picked up a 66 in August, and love it. My Dad owned the same car (in dark green) and bought it new in 66, the year I was born. I recall only sitting on his arm rest of the split bench seat, and the pointed fender tips looking out over the hood. My Car is a survivor, 4Bbl, close ratio buckets/console car. Anyway, it's pretty much put away for the season here in CT, but I hope to do some odds and ends if we get some warmer days. I think I'm getting some heat soak from the cross over exhaust, but not sure, thats for a different thread that I'll post. Anyway, this is a great site, thank you for having it, hopefully my pic comes through.

Nice car! I've always thought 66 Cutlass was a great looking car and a 442 4 speed, wow

Very nice 442! It's funny how at the time you don't think too much about it, but when you get older you revisit those times, as memories, and they mean so much more. SO much more that you get the same car.
I'm also in CT, Middletown, and hope to run into you at some point. Take care!

Thanks Konrad. It's funny. I do remember the armrest, and the speaker grill, but had not remembered the look over the hood and the fender tips. I sat in the car for the first time and immediately remembered "that' look. Flat hood almost framed by the fender tips on each side. I hope to see you at a show sometime!

Very nice piece of automotive history! Early A-body's are getting much harder to find. I built-owned a 67 resto-mod for 13 years and a few years ago I sold to a guy up your way in the Boston area and is roaming the streets in the bad boy 455. Currently an ongoing a 7 year build, the 64 F-85 Pro-Touring car is getting ready to hit the roads of America. After the $$$$ I spent of this build and 80% of the labor is mine, my wife says this is our RV when we retire. I'm okay with that!!
