Newbie from the UK

HI all
Just a short post to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Charlie I'm 47 own a 1955 Oldsmobile 88 4 door holiday in blue/ white two-tone. I live on the Isle of Wight in the UK with my wife, the car is very unusual here, the only other Olds I know of here is a 1954 sedan so the car gets plenty of attention.
Well thats about it folks for now I will have a look around the site and doubtless will be spending lots of time here in the future
Cheers all
Charlie

That is a nice ride! It would get looks/attention anywhere. 1954's and 55's, in my opinion, are the under appreciated model years. I also like the "YUS" plate.

The main areas that need attention are fuel gauge always reads full (I did find a thread on here so I will investigate that soon) and some quite bad (large bubbles under the paint) body work which I hope to sort over the winter. Other than that the only bits I need are the chrome edges that fit around the front windows (the two upright at the rear of the front side windows have rusted through).
I will keep you all up to date on progress and doubtless be asking for help/ advice soon enough

Hi Charlie
Do you still have this car?
I have just got a 1954 98 4door sedan and may have some bits you need as mine came with a lot of spares.
I'm in Bristol, UK
