newbie from Rhode Island

I have read alot of posts where people are asking the newbies to post pics of their cars and such .. so i figured i would throw my 2 cents in, I have a 64 old f85 4 door, I bought it from I believe the second owner for 1500 bucks with a knocking 330, However i was unaware at the time how much of a deal i got until I did some research, so i did what I thought was a good idea and threw a 425 out of a 66 toro in it here's the pics

With the horsepower and torque of the 425 in that "lighter" 4 dr Cutlass, I am quite sure that you have wolf in sheeps clothing.

thanks for the warm welcome, I figured being a 4 door i would rather have the big block to help move it along rather than rebuild the 330

Nice looking Oldsmobile! Bet that sucker is a real sneaker! I had (either a '62 or '64 4 door way back, can't remember which) that had a small block V8 aluminum, I T-H-I-N-K (you get older, memory starts to get fuzzy, trust me!). Really a nice car, made multiple road trips in it. Being from RI, you ARE going to have that at the OCA Nationals in Sturbridge, MA in July, aren't you? Hope so.

UPDATE!!! THANKS for all the input and advice I had the exhaust done sat morning and when i finally started the big block for the first time with the exhaust attached it purrrrrrrred like a kitten, this was the first weekend its been on the road since i bought it and i probably put 100 miles on it with out a problem other than needing a new carb, its got an edlebrock 600 now that nees a rebuild, kinda sputters on low throttle I have realized it's like a drug addiction i drove around aimlessly all weekend with no where to go just to enjoy the pay off

Looks like a real neat 4 door. With the big block it will be a lot of fun.
But why do so many paint the OLDS engine crappy ford blue?

Well when I got the 425 it's was originally blue, from what I read some of the toronados came through blue so I tried to find a color as close to that as I could, I'm not a big fan of it but I figured it wouldn't look right painted gold. Unless I'm wrong about the blue toro motors???

That is the best looking 4 door I have seen, nice.Great color combo as well, I believe about 90% of all 64-65 4 doors were white or beige The 64 and 65 cars look the best in my biased opinion.

Since your needing for a new carburetor just wanna advice you to make it done to the nearest Rhode Island auto repair shop so that your rebuild would be more assure.
