Newbie from NY..
Hi' been on the site for some time ,but never posted. Been working on a 72' Olds that was supposed to be a quick paintjob and lets get driving.
Well i'm sure at least some of you guys have run into the...."while i'm here I might as well fix" logic. So a quickie turns into a ..long term relationship...!

It may as well be....New Paltz is not very close to Manhattan. Even if you take the train, that's gotta be 3 hours round-trip. Nevermind that drive, daily(?); it would kill most mortal man
Welcome! I have always wondered why they call it Upstate NY when my home in Conklin just south of Binghamton is 7 Miles from the PA border! Most people from NYC have never been west of the Hudson river. Thats ok just more room for me! Good luck on the project.
buddy I here you on the job. I was wondering is there still street racing in new York with minimal problems or safety issues with people? I love one on one racing! Chicago area is a pain now and 41 or Byron is the place to go to.
You know, just when you think you've seen everything...a few weeks ago I saw a group of kids on dirtbikes and atv's going uptown from around 92nd street on Broadway!...dirtbikes and ATV's!...I've been passed by "the fast and the furious" looking cars on the Westside Highway ,so anything is possible. I'm not aware of any "scene" like the old Connecting Highway was....but that doesn't mean anything. I'm sure some other NewYorkers on this forum know a lot more about any street racing going on ..than I do.
