Newbie in Michigan

"I'd be that guy" *nice to be a new member here ...

I've acquired an 1984 "Hurst Old's" and I'm currently restoring it. I know a good many "G Bodies" were made here in Michigan, but what simply astounds me is that this particular car still seems to be quite abundant HERE.

In my daily go, I have seen (craigslist, in yards etc ...) more then my share of these which again, surprises me too no end.

Anyway I'm almost 100% done, and I am an HOCA Member as well. I LOVE the HOCA Forum ... but man is it quiet there ! Anyway, I'd love to see other 84" Hurst's (or 83's) and thanks for reading.

If your in Mich., perhaps we could meet / talk somehow ...

Welcome to the site, post some pictures of your H/O. The abundance of Gbodies is prevalent simply due to production numbers and the fact that they are more recent in manufacturing age.

Welcome to C.O.! Yep if memory serves 1984 was million plus year for Oldsmobile so by shear numbers.......

I had a 1979 Regal sport coupe with the 3.8 liter turbo. Cool car but was the biggest POS I have ever owned.

Agree Pat ... I have several "80" Regals and can remember Turbo Failures at 30 K Miles ! ... *(I have a 1980 Regal) it had no A/C so I decided to "re-do" it ...

I'll get some Hurst Pictures soon ... *in the above "(remarking about so many Cutlass's) I meant the "Hurst" Packages.

*I thought they were a "limited" production.

Damn fine work on the paint and body did I see that Maaco did that work?

Known around here for lipstick and mascara work and terrible workmanship! A local ex-Olds dealer has done all my paint and bodywork over the last 20 years. Quotes have been 20% less than everyone else!

That brings me back! non A/C. I think I can dig up picture of mine, were ever it is. Mine was burgundy with a white landau roof and red bench seat, same wheels as yours.
