Newbie from Michigan

Hello to All,
My name is Bill and I am a retiree from southeast Michigan. I'm new to this site although I've been on as a guest several times.
I bought my "totally rust-free" 1972 Cutlass out of southern California in 1994. It sat in my garage until 2000 when I decided to get it road ready. I figured new paint, wheels and tires, and a few engine tweaks would do the trick. WRONG! My quick paint job turned into a full blown frame off restoration. Here I am 13 years later and about 80% done. Wish me luck! Time's running out...

Unsuccessful picture post

Been trying off and on all morning to post a picture of the car, but running into difficulties. I thought one posted under the title "72 Cutlass" but now can't find it. Being a "newbie" is there something special I need to do to start an album?

Hood

I think the problem is my picture files are too large. I'm having trouble re-sizing them, but I think this one worked!

Finally figured out how to resize the pictures, and was able to put several in an album called 72 Cutlass (I think)

That last 20% is what kills most projects. That's why I like to keep my cars as runners ... too many garage ornaments never make it back out onto the black top.

You're probably right, Professur! You should see the other three "retirement" projects just sittin' in the shop waiting for TLC.

Going back in with a mildly-modified original 350 rocket and turbo 350. Went with 342 gears in rear-end. Plan to use stock exhaust manifolds and Flowmaster exhaust. Not a garage paint job...went with a professional painter, but did spend many a night myself priming and blocking! Plenty of pictures - will post more at a later date.

Welcome to the site Bill. Good luck with your project '72!

What else you got laying around in the shop?

Just posted a new album "Waiting on TLC" of the cars I've saved for retirement projects. I'm working on the Cutlass with more pictures of it posted under the album named "72 Cutlass".
