How's it going? I joined to get help/ideas on my son's 83 cutlass supreme. We are in the process of restoring it to get it back up and running. It was his great grandpa's car and he wants to get it running again and use it as an everyday driver. We are both novice's to say the least and know enough to get by, which I'm learning is also just enough to be dangerous and get us into trouble. lol

In addition to here, there are several G-body forums which can also help. The Buick and Chevy versions of these cars especially are very popular so a lot of the shared parts are easy to get.

Details? as in V6 or V8, coupe, sedan or wagon?

Welcome to the site, post some pictures when you get a chance. We like father and son projects.

Background: the car sat for about 13 years; never started or driven, gas left in the tank, high pitch noise when I put a new battery in and fired it up. Engine is junk, my son wanted more horsepower b/c it currently has a 3.8L V6, it's the coupe Brougham edition (I said 455! he said he wanted to be able to afford to drive it) so we found a 350 rocket from a 72 cutlass. The heads, lifters, rods, and cam are good in the 350, but the intake and carb need replaced. Any recommendation for replacing either of those?
