Newbie from Iran

I was looking in its documents the other day and i found that the car has belonged to US embassy in Tehran from 1968 to 1976! And in 1976 it was purchased by the first owner.
That's a very good news for me

Hello Armin and welcome.
This is fasinating. I must say Iran is one the last places I would expect a member to be from. I can only think Libya would be less likely. I am surprised Ahmadinejad even allows American cars there? Especially one representing the period of Pahlavi.
Are there many other American cars in Iran? New or Older ones? It must be difficult to get parts for any of them.

Thanks.
Unfortunately near 50 percent of American cars had been dismissed and destoyed in junkyards of Iran by the law that the goverment made 4 or 5 years ago
Among them i can name many chargers and challengers- 50's cadillacs and many precious cars.
As far as I know my car is the only 68 cutlass still running in Iran.
It's very hard for us to supply the parts we need because of the sanctions.
But it's much more easier for those who own 70's cars especialy camaros and firebirds as they are many here.
There aren't a lot of new american cars in Iran you know for the reason coltsneckbob just mentioned.
Here is a picture of whats going on under my hood. It's pretty much stock.
