Newbie fromMontana

Hi folks, I just got a barn find the other day. It's a 1964 Dynamic 88 wagon. It's got 97,000 on it been sitting for 35 years. Got the gas tank off rebuilt the carb, fuel pump and lines. Going to take the tank in today to get it boiled out. It's a 394 all original and all complete right down to the 4 hubcaps. Hard time finding decent 14 inch tires that are big enough.
I'll get some pics up soon. I'm probably just going to sell it.

Welcome to CO and love to see some pics!

Does it have a 2 or 4 bbl carb? Gotta love those 394's!

See if this works

These I just took. I got the tank out, get it back in 2 days. 95 bucks to boil it out.

I see that it has the 2 bbl. carb. Why does it sit so high in the rear?

It"s on jack stands, he just pulled the gas tank.

I am a lover wagons and of the 394, not so much of the Slim-Jim transmission bolted to it. They are temperamental at best and hard to get anyone to repair them when they go bad, and they do go bad.If mine I would get it running and see what is going on with the transmission be fore you commit a lot of money and energy to the cause, there are a few good people out there that do work on those transmissions but unless you are lucky plan on a shipping charge to some where distant. You might try Coker tire, they have a web site and cater to the classic car market. Luck with your build there can't be many 64 wagons out there.....Lost in the fifties ...Tedd

The tranny is fine

I actually drove the old girl about 12 miles AFTER I rebuilt the carb, that all it would do because the tar in the tank plugged the filter, fuel pump and carburetor. Sooo I pulled everything again and started over this time with a professionally cleaned tank. They wanted $182 to line the tank but I can get a kit and do it myself for $67 bucks. 2 more nice tires for the back and it's ready for a tranny fluid change and a rear end change. And sold to the lucky bidder. I got too much going on to keep the old girl.
