Newbie Father-Son project

New 1963 Oldsmobile F85 Cutlass owners. 15 year old son wanted a project car. $400 with surface rust, rusted through front floorboards and currently not running. At least he got what he wanted!!

A big welcome to CO to you and your son, and your new/old F85! Sounds like a learning experience is in the works for both of you. GOOD LUCK! Show us your progress with pictures, we love 'em!

Welcome to CO from the left coast

A father and son project car is a great way to keep a 15 year old on track and maintain a good relationship. I hope you both enjoy the experience. Nice car to build too.

Welcome, I so like father and son projects. My only advice is try not to be condescending and have patience. Good Luck!!!!!!

Welcome to CO. It sounds like you have a great father son project. I did the same thing with my son except his was a rusted out 78 Trans Am. Just remember to make it fun, I know I forgot that a few times when it was hot out and the son was not as motivated as the father. If that happens take a break, it may take longer but the experience and the memories will be more enjoyable.

Good luck and enjoy your new old Oldsmobile.
