Newbie from Derbytown ;)

Greetings from Louisville KY!

I may be having a mid-life crisis and am thinking of buying a '72 Cutlass Supreme (350).

Anything I should know up front about the '72 Cutty from the experts?

So far the only draw back I can think of is the drum brakes all around, I'd feel much better with discs.

Thanks for letting me join the group!

All The Best!

Welcome to our site! I say buy it, lol!! It's my favorite of all the Oldsmobiles out there and it's a wonderful car, drums and all!! Of course I'm biased.......

Welcome and good luck with your quest. Drum brakes work very well!

Remember that kits to convert from drum to disc are readily available. If you have passion for it do it.

Welcome to CO! Rust also comes to mind as a problem area on these cars. Most common places are: bottoms of the front fenders, around the rear wheel wells, floors, trunk, rear window and the lower windshield cowl area. Unless you're a welder or if you have a friend that can do it, I'd make sure the car is as rust free as possible. They are great cars, good luck with your search.

drums, if they a dialed in right and as long as you dont plan on drag racing the car will work just fine. go for it!

Picked her up today!!! Feels like Christmas!!

Anything built like that got to be named Lucille!!

PS & manual drum brakes... can I convert to PB disc/drum??

Gears were also swapped to 3.73 but I think I'm gonna put the original 2.73's back in it.

Looks good without the vinyl roof on it and is less of a rust magnet because of it enjoy your ride.

I'm in love! My favorite body style of the era and one of my favorite Cutlass colors, too. Have fun and welcome aboard!

WElcome & best of luck with Lucielle...Treat her right & she will do the same..My 67 C/S has drums & they work fine, does it stop like my CTS, NO! But it stops enough to keep me form hitting anything. Its all about how I drive knowing that I have drums all the way around..
