Newbie, 50 Olds 88 Convert.

Better stay in newbie area for a while. My brother is working on restoring a 1950 Olds.
Rocket 88 Convert. and he asked me to make this post for him. He's having trouble finding good quality floor pans for the car does anybody have any suggestions?

Guy

First of all welcome aboard both you and your brother. When you get a chance, after every one bugs you for pictures drop on down to the vintage forum and check out a recent thread which had a discussion on reproduced floor pans, this may be a help....Lost in the fifties ...Tedd

I don't think anybody makes them. I know some guys use Chevy floorpans but they have to modify the transmission hump for the hydramatic. I have attached a couple pictures of a 50 Olds convertible that is in an estate that I am the executor of. I know the floorpans are pieces of sheetmetal. I will make a strong effort to buy this car from the estate.

Someone on the right coast makes floor pans for '57 & '58...they sell on e-bay...maybe they have them for '50 as well, or maybe modify the '57 stuff...

Here is a lead on floor pans, EMS Automotive Products 216-541-4595. This would be for 49 -52 Chevy floor pan and as mentioned before the transmission hump on a Chevy will be different but the flat pan should be close enough that you could use much of it as a patch to weld in. Just a option...Tedd
