Newbie with 1987 Trofeo

Hello all.

A newbie to the classic olds site. Long time owner of Oldsmobiles, and my youngest now has a 1987 Toronado Trofeo as his first car. He will be the one visiting the site with questions and searching for parts during his "learning" years of automobile ownership. Alway looking for information on parts, (looking now for the black plastic covered turn signal assemblies).

Who doesn't love a Toro

My son just loves his "TORO". Anything unique! Anyone can drive a ho-hum Grand Am or whatever, but an unusual car is it for him. His friends just love it. A 24 year old car, 85K miles & zero rust for $1300.00 was a good deal for him as a 1st car. Parts are very hard to come by though. He will be saving for a early to mid 70's Cutlass, as that is really what he wants. Does not care about my 2009 G8 or his brothers 2004 Grand Prix GTP, he wants early muscle cars.

My dad was a Olds guy who worked for GM at Saginaw Steering Gear (60's F85, 75 Cutlass, 77 Starfire then went to Pontiacs), and always had a passion for cars which he passed to me and now my youngest. I grew up driviing Chevelles, Cutlass', Camaros, etc. and will always love American Muscle.

Welcome to CO, sounds like the father instilled the love of cars to the son, excellent.
