Newbie - 1962 Starfire
Hello all!
I should be taking possession of my '62 Starfire in about three weeks. I am very excited to get it and to find this forum which I can see already is going to be very helpful in getting me familiar with the car. I'll post pictures of it once it is officially mine. I've always been a Ford guy but am jumping that ship and going GM! I did learn to drive in a '72 Vista Cruiser so my driving years did begin with GM. I drove that car all through High School. It was an awesome car! I can still remember how it sounded each time I started it.
Although I don't have my Starfire yet, I'm getting ready and already looking to have some questions answered about things that I think it may need. So I will be posting those in the appropriate forums (I hope) and look forward to learning more about my Starfire from all the knowledge here.
Until then, I am so glad I found you all here!

Your Starfire will be a world diff compared to the vista. It is a big car and the engine and trans completely diff. It will take some getting used to. It will be fun. Get as many books on and about the car, it will help a bunch. Have they sent you a lot of pics of the car? Does it run and drive? Where is it coming from?

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! Fortunately I am use to driving a pretty big car. I have a '69 Continental Mark III as well. The car is in California. I believe the 'C" in the VIN indicates it was assembled in South Gate, Ca. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. It runs beautifully and I have had the opportunity to drive it quite a bit. My biggest adjustment is getting use to all drum brakes! Thanks for the advice on getting lots of books. Great idea!
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
