I've never installed a top from scratch but have readjusted mine. I hope you have the body service manual. It is confusing but necessary. Just follow the instructions and you can do it!

I installed the top on my car back in the 90s using the Fisher body manual as a guide and found it was a fairly straightforward operation.

It's not Rocket Science - or is it?

Welcome to the site.
Don't mean to stomp on your confidence, but I too had confidence when I thought I could replace the convertible top on my '57 TBird. In the end, I called the local upholstery man, Rafael; he stopped by the house, looked and things and told me to bring the car in the following week.

In short order, Rafael and his wife had rectified my mistakes and told me to come pick up the car. The top fits correctly, looks fantastic, and the rear plastic window is always tight as a drum as is the rest of the fabric--with no wrinkles. It was well worth the bill Rafael presented me when he completed the job. In a nutshell, Rafael had tricks and tools that made a difference in the finished look.

Most work you do yourself; other things like upholstery work I write the check. Just saying

I don't think there was an F85 ragtop in 1967, but there was a Cutlass and Cutlass Supreme ragtop--the latter available with the 442 package.
