new user with cutlass questions

Hi all,

I've been a fan of 1970-72 cutlass convertibles for a while. Thinking seriously about pursuing one. I plan to lurk and learn more.

If anyone can point me to the canonical engine/trim grid for that era of cutlass/cutlass supremes I'd be grateful. I know the SX hi-perf variant existed for 70 and 71... but it's unclear to me if there were multiple engines available for the non-SX cutlasses. And what makes a supreme "supreme".

Welcome to C.O. Well you can see some dealer brochures.

If you want greater details you can join wildaboutcars.com it has a nominal fee for a year, but a huge archive online.

As far what makes a "Supreme" is the body style 57 for hardtops and 67 for verts. 70-72 convertibles were all supremes, you could also get the 442 verts with the same body.

The first is a supreme hardtop and the other is an S body 87 style holiday.
Non SX versions received the 350 4BBl. as standard with 350 2BBL. as and optional deduct.
