New to the site

I just got started a couple of days ago and am already lost. I didn't see any icon to just post a message. Somehow got to "reply" so here I am. My first Olds was a brand new 66 442 that was a pure accident. I really wanted a Buick Skylark GS but the salesman treated me like a kid (bring your dad son) and wouldn't give me the time of day. I was a mo. shy of 21. At the Olds dealer it was "come on in and we will order one." I was hooked and never regreted it. I currently have a 67 Cutlass (white with black vinyl top, I would post a picture but I don't yet know how.) that is equipped with the Turnpike Cruiser option (You know, the 400 HC with a 2V carb.). When I found out how rare they were I just couldn't hot rod it. It is virtually all original, except for some 60s Indy mag wheels. I am a member of the Stockers Car Club in Colorado Springs. More later, after I figure things out.

Welcome to the site! I moved your first post to the newbie section. This is the forum created for you to introduce yourself and ask any questions you have about the site. There's a couple methods to posting pictures, I use a free site called photobucket. I upload pictures from my computer to there then do a copy and paste here. I'll try to find an old post from a member who does it differently and add it to your thread.

Welcome to C.O.
To post a new thread (looks like a mod moved your post from the other thread to a new one for you) just clik the "Forums" tab ^^ up there and select an area you want to start the thread. Clik into the area and there will be a round oval that says "New Thread". That's how you do it.

re: posting pics. Here's a suggestion
* clik the 'go advanced' tab
* Press the icon that looks like a paper clip; and A 'Manage Attachments' box will appear
* Choose (navigate on your computer to where the pics are stored) and hit 'open'. repeat for all 5 pics.
* Hit 'upload'. It may take a bit of time depending on your pic resolution. If you have ultra high res, you will have to 'resize' them with your picture editor to a 1024X768 size or smaller for the C.O. server to accept them.
* Close the "manage attachments' box.
* Preview your post and the images will be at the bottom
* Hit 'submit post' and the thread will have the images installed at the bottom. Unfortunately you can only do 5 pics at a time this way.

If you have the pics hosted on another web server?
* Copy the IMG url and Press the icon that looks like an envelope with mountains on it. Paste the URL into that box and hit 'ok'. You can install up to 20 images this way.
* Be sure to preview your work.
* Make sure the images don't carry on across the page, stack them for easier viewing.

That should get you started with posting pics.

Neat story on your first car.

EDIT: Ah HA! I was right. John moved you over and posted while I was typing. Got the pic stuff covered for you John!

Welcome to this site, and what an interesting car you have! Thanks for keeping it stock - I agree with you that a car of that particular set-up should be left the way it came. There's a vast amount of info here and it's yours for the taking.

BTW, white with a black top is particularly attractive to me!

Randy, you should start an album with pics of your car. That's one of the first I've seen of it and it's stunning! I like the black top too, but I'm partial to silver...
