New to the site.
Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and must say, what a nice site it is. I just took over my granfathers 1972 cutlass. It had sat in the garage for 24 years before we took it over. It had 54,000 miles. We have all build sheets etc. He bought it just for drag racing at 75-80 in Maryland. I heard that there were not many like this because of how he ordered it. It came with a posi rear, dual exhaust and a bench seat but, with a factory 4 speed hurst shifter on the floor. I always thought most came with bucket seats. It is green and no power steering and no a/c. Now there are headers on it. I dont know if they came stock and also has very old style M/T valve covers. We cleaned the points and put new fuel in it and ran oerfect besides some smoke. Now im going to do a paint job and fix exaust because thats finally gone. Other then that it's staying stock. Sorry about long post, but can someone tell me if they produced a lot of these and id the headers and valve covers were stock. The body style is the round rear end shape kind of like the chevelle. Thanks everyone.

Welcome to the site and congrats on your new "toy". Neither the headers or the valve covers would have been factory. But it woudn't have been uncommon for people to add these. You didn't mention the engine size, is it a 350 or 455? Please post pictures when you can, we all enjoy each others cars.

Welcome to CO. I don't think a four speed bench seat car was very common. It is hard to know how many were ordered like yours because there weren't records kept on how the cars were optioned out, except for those built in Canada.
