What great info!! It has been repainted and clear coated ,,, not sure how long ago...... They probably tried to get as close as possible. Those colors are what I remember as a kid. They might not be exact. Thanks for all the compliments. I'll snap more photos..

I have some interior photos of my Olds 56. I remember my father traveling up to Mars PA. for the interior work. I'm not sure how much work they did or if they recreated the color and fabric. As a kid I do remember the inside looking like this. Again I'm not sure if this is what the inside looked like when grandpa purchased the car. The fabric is like a tweed black and white with combined leather. The top inside is like the outside gray. I wish I had more info. You guys have given me so much info on this car. What knowledge you have.....

Thanks so much for all the time.

Here is a link to SMS Fabric's websight.
Yes, the fabric matches the original trim code (361) on the body tag.

Oh, and according to the "L" in the body number, it was assembled in Lansing, Mich.

And that interior is in Oldsmobile's least expensive car for 1956.

The early 60s ad slogan was "There's 'something extra' about owning an Oldsmobile!"

And they're right!😎

Grandpa was a "saver". All he wanted was a basic car. No need for extras.... ..
