Hello, i am new to this and all forums for that matter, and need some help.

I have my grandmothers 66 f85 deluxe and i dont know what it is worth. It has been sitting for some time, but still runs. I start it every now and then. The body is a little rough with some surface rust but no holes. It has an inline six (250 i think). The odometer reads less than 35000 miles... But it may not be working.

The car has a lot of sentimental value to me, but i just dont have the resources to fix it up... Thinking about letting it go, although i hate to. Where can i get an idea the dollar value?

Should i be posting in another place.

Welcome, You should get some responses to your inquiry here, plus if you go to the Olds Club of America website www.Oldsclub.org there will be a link on the left for Olds chapters, there might be one in your area that you can contact for some help in determining your cars value. They may have someone there who would be willing to help.

 

The Old Cars Price Guide puts the value of a '66 F-85 deluxe in #4 condition (running and in need of restoration) at about $2200 to $2300 for a four-door and about $3000 for a 2-door. Now these values are given for a car with a V-8 engine. The guide says to deduct 20% from these values for a car with a 6-cylinder engine. So you're probably talking in the high teens for a four-door and in the mid-$2000s for a 2-door.

But you should know that a six-cylinder car will probably just not be that desirable compared to what it would be if it had a V-8, so it might take some time to sell. You never know. Your most likely buyer might be someone needing parts for a '66 Cutlass.
