Wow - lucky guy. You weren't out spending too much time out in bars, chasing women, etc, were you?
Way cool. Of course she might regret it when she sees what kind of $ it takes to restore one.
Welcome to CO!
(BTW, I am about 40 miles east of you)...

Welcome to CO. Something is very fishy here. I cannot picture a wife doing something like this unprovoked....I usually ask for forgiveness instead of permission...very nice car, post more pics.
Thanks all for the warm welcome.
Sorry she does'nt have any other sisters and she bought the car to keep me out of bars and more improtantly the trouble I seem to get I would get into.
Will post more as I go but currently trying to get everything up to date for dang saftey inspection. Who knew to little signal lenses would cause so much trouble.
Rob good to know some one is close, you may have to be my lean to on a few items. LOL sorry for future questions.

Welcome to CO! Really nice looking H/T. Has to be an exceptional wife!!! Kudos to her, and to you for finding her. As Rob said, quite a few of us lurking in the Metroplex. You might want to go to the Olds Club of America website and find the North Texas Oldsmobile Club. Lots'a good people; several of us driving to the OCA Nationals in Reno the end of July. Large Zone Show in October at the Marriott across from Texas Motor Speedway (Friday/Sunday, 7-9th, tenative dates at this point, until we get the details firmed up with the host hotel). Drag racing on Saturday night up north of Denton (about a 25 minute drive) for bragging rights! Sorry, didn't mean to interfere with the welcome to ClassicOldsmobile.com!!!!

Welcome.
The car should get real good mileage going downhill all the time like that.
In 1995 a Reliable Transport truck pulled up in front of my house and this was in it, my wife said "Surprise!".

I had been corresponding a few months before with the owner in Texas and knew it was a good car but decided it was too much money and had forgotten about it. She got him down somehow, it's worth three times as much now.
Take three times as much to buy anything else now too , at least it kept up with inflation.
My wife is a car guy , restored a '62 Ford Fairlane when she was 19, had it painted and everything, us guys were driving primered beaters.
Her Dad owned a Sunoco Station too, I had to marry her.
She has a big sister but she smashes up cars monthly and weighs about twice as much as her little sister.

As long as they are not broken or dirty, they should be fine. What's up there??
There being the key word, they were not there. Called up Fusik and got a new pair. She got it for $2,800 and if you looked around down here you know what a buy that was, so it has a few little things to be fixed. But that is the fun of it all.

You have a good point - the lenses DO need to be there!
Glad you found Fusick - they are a great source of parts.
2800 is a good price but as you said, it will need some work.
How is the chassis and body structure? If not too much rust or collision damage, you will have a good project. Make threads of your progress!
