New to Olds

Hello all. I am the new owner of a 61 Dynamic 88 with 394 UHC, ps, pb, and air. I have plans for it that some might not like, but it is mine. The biggest changes will be air ride and a custom interior. I will post pictures when I get them.

I think you'll be fine here as long as you don't start up any nonsense about putting a Chevrolet engine in it. You do that you'd better have a fire suit handy.

If you're after a modern transmission, KQQLCAT has done it in a 61 D-88 2-door post using a Ross Racing kit.

Mocephus just walked us thru a front disc brake upgrade on a 68; doing a 61 will be very similar and I think Scarebird has a kit for it and rear discs.

61 is one of the absolute coolest Oldsmobiles (and cars for that matter) ever built. But you sure don't see many...

Talking Welcome to CO

The 61's are cool cars, can't wait to see some pictures. There are a couple of other 61's on the site that are cool as well

Welcome to CO. I am looking forward to seeing progress on a custom myself so I am glad to read about your plans. You are correct in any case, it is your car to do with as you please.

Sure would be nice if that picture was bigger...

The 1961 Olds and Buick looked like radical customs straight from the factory. Doesn't take much to really send them stratospheric.
