Well, it's been quite a while since I've been on here, years I'm sure. As my username suggests, I have a 82 Cutlass but... It certainly is not clean. It is a total rot box and just looked good from a distance. Long story short, it's sold for parts and is being picked up next week. In it's place I picked up a very clean rust free 1981 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency diesel. The car has 104k miles on it and the engine I'm told was no good however it also came with a NOS 1981 Olds 5.7 diesel on the crate still. My goal is to get the engine running that's in the car and not have to use the new engine and I think that's possible. The engine runs as is and I'm thinking fuel or timing issue, maybe head gasket. Anyway, I'll be back around and sharing as I work on the car! Pics are the Ninety Eight in the garage and the Cutlass before it was pushed out. The new diesel is on the crate on the cherry picker with the Chevy small block pulled out of the Cutlass on the stand next to it.
Also, is it possible to have my username changed? Certainly doesn't fit anymore haha!
beautiful 98,always liked the 81 grille.i'd put a nice low compression mid 70s 455 in that car, they make the nicest riding/driving living room around.enjoy
I agree with the 455 transplant, everything bolts right up, I had a 84 Ninety-Eight and did the swap with a 350 that was from my Wife’s rusted 77 Cutlass. It had just under 100,000 miles when I put it in the Ninety-Eight and went to 200,000 miles before I sold it.
