A new newbie

Hi all,

My name is Jaap and live in the Netherlands (not Amsterdam ).

I'm since this year the owner of a 84" Olds Cutlass Ciera Brougham 2.8 V6.
This car was a barnfind and was sitting there for 14 years.

My former car was a 69" Chevy C10 but I love the Olds.

Thanks for letting me join this forum and I'l hope to learn from you guys!

Welcome to C.O.
So you're in the Netherlands but not Amsterdam. I got a little confused so I looked up Netherlands and got ( THE C.I.A. - no $hit - World Fact book on the Netherlands. Does that mean they're coming for me?? )

I get it now - you live somewhere 'else'. So where abouts are you? So cool that you'd find an Olds over there.

Thanks for all the replies.

OK special for Allan R I live between Den Helder and IJmuiden. (Plz look at your map)
Its the north-west of the Netherlands. In a little town called Oudkarspel.
But there's no C.I.A overhere..
There are a lot of us cars in the Netherlands. My Olds for instance is a export car delivered in 1984.

Here's some pics of a Dutch Olds
The rh molding sits in the trunk so I can't damage this one. The one for the hood is already damaged..

Sorry for the terrible images, they made with my cellphone.

And here's my old 69 Chevy C10 with my kid on top of it...
He's the one who misses the car at most..

Very nice. Welcome to the site. Last time I was in Holland I went into a bar and there was a Canadian flag hanging up. I asked if a Canadian owned the bar and the bartender said "No, I do and I'm Dutch. I just like you guys." It was pretty funny at the time. Even got a free drink.

Over here a very large group of people who loves the US and Canada.
For me it is a dream to visit canada once, but that's for the future.

Look at the pictures and see for your self.

Very cool. You have some really nice looking train stations and light rail cars. I used to work in that industry before I retired.

Glad to see another Ciera on this site - my wife has a nice '83 Ciera Brougham Holiday Coupe with 3-liter.

It's lowered and on 16" Centerline 'Spyder' wheels, it was brought into New Zealand in '87 by its American owner, a George W. Custer - no s*#t!

My wife loves the car and it's her daily-driver.
